- This is a sample file of questions for use in MacTrivia.
-
- But first, here is some background:
- MacTrivia is a simple question-and-answer game in which the player
- is presented a series of multiple choice questions. I wrote it as an
- attention-getter for a media conference, but you can customize the
- questions for any event or topic you have in mind.
-
- Here's how this format works:
- -This question file MUST be named "Q", and it must be of type TEXT
- -There is a comment section allowed at the beginning of the file
- (what you're reading) which ends with a line of three X's
- -That line is followed by two lines giving the NAME OF THE PROGRAM.
- So, if you want to create "CPA Trivia", "Woz Trivia", go right ahead!
- -Next, a very important line...YOUR NAME. Type in 'and ' and your
- name so you can be listed as the literary coauthor of this epic.
- -The next line contains just a integer value, the number of questions
- to be asked in each round.
- -This is followed by CATEGORY NAMES. This is cosmetic only, as these
- names are only used to give some class to the questions.
- However, so that the right one gets matched to each question,
- the categories must have unique initial letters.
- -The list of category names is finished with another XXX.
- -Next comes the questions. There are six lines for each question:
- -Category. Only the FIRST LETTER needs to be here, but
- you can enter more for your own reference. For
- example, if the category for the question is given as
- BIRDSEED, the first category in the category list
- beginning with the letter B will be shown to the player.
- -The question
- -Four possible replies: the first one in this list is the
- correct answer, the next three are incorrect. The
- four answers are shuffled for presentation to the user.
- Keep the answers short enough to fit across each round rectangle.
- Note: the maximum number of questions is 75.
-
- Have fun! And if you DO come up with the ultimate "Marsupial Trivia"
- or "Toolbox Trivia", how 'bout uploading it so everyone can try it?
